To start your PC in safe mode press F8 during start up and choose "Safe mode without network options". Then login as normal. Note: by using "safe mode" only windows services/programs will start. So your adware/spyware/virusses will not be loaded and removal tools should be able to remove that unwanted software succesfully. After you logged in you should run/start any (or all) of your anti adware programs. Or instead of starting Windows in safe mode you could also open task manager via CTRL+DELETE and end unnecessary/unknown tasks. Once you end the unnecessary/unknown tasks you should be able to run the anti spyware programs. Have you tried running you ad ware software in safe mode?
